Construction, training and equipment specialist, AquaTerra Group Ltd, was delighted to open its doors and host the launch of a new collaboration specialising in unique repair order solutions on Thursday, 12 November 2015 at the company’s Headquarters in Kintore, Aberdeenshire.
The event saw 11 companies unite under one roof to introduce and demonstrate innovative concepts, technologies and services working in tandem to streamline repair and maintenance costs, remove asset integrity risks and reduce repair order back logs.
The aim of the event was to raise awareness of UROS, an initiative which has been established to deliver smarter, collaborative ways of working and provide greater value in a difficult economic environment. Visitors were able to experience some of the products and services from the companies involved through practical demonstrations throughout the day that minimise offshore time spent performing repair orders.
“We are experiencing the deepest crisis the UK oil and gas industry has faced since the 1980’s and it’s likely to be some time before we witness stability, let alone growth” said Peter Robinson, Managing Director at The AquaTerra Group. “At a time of falling revenues and rising costs it’s clear that we need to redress the balance by developing new working practices, employing different repair and maintenance strategies, and applying new materials and technologies.”

Among the companies joining AquaTerra on the day were; engineering design and management consultants, Ramboll ; innovative technology specialists, VISTEM; surface preparation specialists, Pinovo; coating experts, GCG group, and composite repair providers, Walker Technical Resources. Stopaq, providing corrosion prevention and sealant technology; NCompassPiping, with precured composite pipe work sleeves; Layher, with a rapid erect load bearing shoring system, and advanced inspection specialists, Sonomatic.
