AquaTerra's Training Division Thriving

Specialist access services company, AquaTerra Solutions (AquaTerra), said yesterday (6/01/2010) that its training division was thriving despite recession as it forecasts results substantially ahead of market hopes.

The company, whose training division provides a range of specialist courses including rigging and lifting and work at height, said despite a relatively quiet October total UK sales for the 4th quarter were up 100% on last year with over 500 delegates attending courses in Q4 2009 compared with the 223 in Q4 2008.

AquaTerra Training Director, Mark Pearce, said that whilst the recession may have taken its toll on the oil and gas industry, its client companies certainly hadn’t compromised on their employee’s capability growth.

Pearce commented: “Normally a quiet time of year, December has been our busiest month to date for the training division.  Companies across the board seem to have used the quieter periods to focus internally on tightening the skills gaps.”

We’ve seen a significant increase of interest in our working at height, confined space and rigging courses and our continued growth across all training has allowed us to increase our staff pool with several new appointments.”

AquaTerra’s growth success affirms its decision to investment nearly £3million into new facilities.

The planned investment will see the company move to a 2.5 acre site at Midmill Industrial Estate, Kintore which contains 10,000 sq foot of training facilities and 5,000 sq foot of office space.

The training facilities, which include specially designed areas for simulating work-at-height, confined spaces, along with a comprehensive rigging loft and lifting frames, will allow AquaTerra to expand its range of accredited courses.
