AquaTerra, the Aberdeen-based supplier of work at height and rope access related services, today (4 December) announces the creation of a Training Director role as part of plans to expand the company's training services. Mark Pearce has been appointed to the new position to develop AquaTerra's portfolio of training courses, which currently include Working and Rescue from Height, Confined Space and OPITO-approved Rigging and Lifting. Mark has more than 20 years of experience in various divisions of the oil and gas industry, and has an extensive knowledge of managing multimillion training, logistics and safety operations spanning Europe and Africa.
Pete Robinson, Managing Director at AquaTerra, says, "Mark's vast experience in managing training operations makes him a valuable addition to our team. Since the introduction of the Work at Height regulations in 2005, our training courses have steadily expanded, and we felt that additional resources were needed to take that division forward and progress our services for clients. Our objective is to become one of the premier suppliers of specialist training services to the oil and gas sector and associated industries."
Mark's previous role as Training Centre Manager with an oil and gas service provider involved operational and financial responsibility for the company's training centres in the north east of Scotland, which provided courses for Survival, Fire Fighting, Marine and Health & Safety training to clients in the oil and gas sector and associated offshore industries. Mark also spent several years working in pipeline services; managing operational, rental and manufacturing business in the UK, West Africa, Scandinavia and the Caspian Sea district.
AquaTerra's training services include courses for Working and Rescue from Height, Confined Space, OPITO-approved Rigging and Lifting and other complimentary programmes. The company's major courses involve a high level of practical training in their fully equipped and purpose-built facilities, which give participants plenty of opportunity to practice tasks in a simulated and safe environment. AquaTerra's main clients include, but are not limited to, major oil operators, drilling contractors, service companies and subsea contractors.
Mark says, "I'm looking forward to working with the team at AquaTerra and the new challenges that the role will offer. I hope to maintain the high quality and standard of training courses available, while expanding the business to meet the requirements of current and new clients."
