AquaTerra's Training Services Log on to Help Companies Beat the Recession

July 9, 2009

AquaTerra, the Aberdeen-based supplier of work at height and rope access related services, today (Friday July 9, 2009) launches its online training service to help companies reduce costs in a recession-hit climate without compromise to safety. The company has developed a basic work at height training course that can be completed by employees at work or at home, meaning less travel costs and less time spent away from the workplace.

The one hour course is intended for harness wearers and fulfils the minimum requirements for on and offshore harness use. The programme covers essential information needed for the safe use of modern harness and associated Personnel Fall Protection Equipment (PFPE) in non-practical industrial applications, as well as current legislation and requirements.

Mark Pearce, Training Director at AquaTerra says, "In the wake of the current financial difficulties that the UK is experiencing, a lot of companies are trying to reduce costs without compromising on health and safety. Our online training programme was developed in response to what we felt was a void in the market. The online course provides exactly the same material that would be provided at our on-site training facility, the only difference being that it takes place over the internet.

"The benefit of this online course is that participants don't have to visit our training centre to take part, therefore saving companies additional travel costs and the hassle of having staff absent from the office. It also helps to address companies' social responsibility objectives by cutting out the need for travelling, thus reducing firms' carbon footprint."

Companies with a large number of employees can make use of the online multiple user option, saving more money. Once the course is completed, AquaTerra's trainers evaluate the results and issue certificates to successful participants.
