May 1, 2009
AquaTerra, today announces its positive financial third quarter results, (November 2008 to January 2009), reporting substantial growth especially in terms of their training division, despite the tough current economic time. With the financial year end approaching, and despite many companies reducing training budgets due to the economic downturn, AquaTerra, the Aberdeen based supplier of work at height and rope access related services, reports a record breaking 200% increase in revenue generated by their training division. This additional revenue is a direct result of strengthening relationships with established clients and a 50% increase in their client base since the start of the 2008/09 financial year.
Mark Pearce, Training Director at AquaTerra, adds, "These results highlight our continued growth throughout 2008. In particular exceptional growth was experienced during the period from October to December 2008 which witnessed more than a 300% increase in the number of people trained compared with the same time the previous year.
"This rise in demand for training has resulted in AquaTerra looking to relocate to premises which are more than double the size of its existing facilities."
"We offer a diverse range of practically-based health and safety courses including Working at Height, Confined Space, IRATA Rope Access and OPITO Rigging and Lifting. Our client base includes those working in the oil and gas industry, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, power generation, marine, renewable energy, communications and civil engineering sectors. We have also found that our courses appeal to those wishing to retrain, with a number of people across a variety of industry sectors considering a change of career given the current financial climate."
During the period from July 2008 to March 2009 AquaTerra has secured a significant number of new contracts for the supply of inspection and maintenance services to oil and gas companies both in the UK and overseas, giving the company a 60% increase in their client base.
With respect to the 2009/2010 financial year Pete Robinson, Managing Director at AquaTerra, adds, "Moving forward we will consolidate our position and maintain this year's growth. Our strategy is to grow the company further and we will be expanding our portfolio of overseas clients. We have already established relationships in West Africa and the Middle East to deliver training based on global best practice."
